About

Hi, I'm Jess!

My love for all things crafty and handmade dates back to my childhood. I loved drawing, made new clothes for my barbie dolls and gifted beaded animals to my family and friends. My passion for creative hobbies has always been endless.

Today, that same spark drives Hase Holunda. For me, sustainability isn't a trend. It should be the default when designing and making products. That's why I craft all my notebooks out of 100% recycled paper and wrap them into colorful, vibrant designs.

"For me, sustainability isn't a trend. It should be the default when designing and making products."

That's why I look closely when choosing the papers I want to use for my notebooks. A lot of the materials I source come certified with the Blue Angel label, the EU Ecolabel, the FSC label. But what does all of that even mean?

  • Blue Angel

It's the world's first and most recognized eco-label, originating in Germany. It certifies that the paper is produced with minimal environmental impact, including strict limits on chemicals, wastewater, and energy use. It guarantees the paper is truly recycled and safe for your skin.

  • EU Ecolabel

The official European Union quality label for products with a reduced environmental footprint throughout their entire life cycle. It ensures the paper meets high EU standards for sustainability, from the sourcing of raw materials to the manufacturing process, ensuring no harmful substances were used.

  • FSC Label

The global gold standard for responsible forestry. Even though your paper is recycled, the FSC label (specifically FSC Recycled) guarantees that the recycled fibers were sourced responsibly and that the supply chain is tracked to prevent illegal logging or mixing with virgin wood from controversial sources.
